A group of girl scouts visited us here at the Outdoor Learning Center on Friday, May 18th through Sunday, May 20th! The large group was made up of 40 girl scouts from 6 different troops and 8 troop leaders. They traveled from the Maryland/DC area to enjoy various OLC activities such as canoeing, the high and low ropes courses, the campfire circle and horseback riding. A large group of 6th and 7th graders from Eastern Mennonite School
came to the Outdoor Learning Center on Friday, May 18th. We used our facilities to organize an end-of-the-school-year Field Day for 65 students in total. They participated in activities such as canoe relays, giant soccer, capture the flag, beach volleyball, steal the bacon, backwards kickball, a nature hike, 3-way dodge ball and ultimate frisbee. A group of students from Norwood School in Bethesda, MD visited the Outdoor Learning Center this past weekend. There were 55 students, from elementary to middle school aged, and 7 teachers. The group participated in a variety of outdoor learning activities, many of which can be seen in the slideshow below:
